Tord Tamerlan Teodor Thorell (3. Mai1830 - 22. Dezember1901) war ein SchwedischArachnologe. Er beschrieb mehr als 1000 Spinnenarten während seiner Arbeitszeit (1850 - 1900).
Thorell studierte zusammen mit Giacomo Doria Spinnen in der Museo Civico di Storia Naturale im Genua, Italien. Er korrespondierte mit anderen Arachnologen, wie z Octavius Pickard-Cambridge, Eugen Simon und Thomas Arbeiter.
Thorell schrieb zwei wichtige Werke: Über europäische Spinnen (1869) und Synonyme für europäische Spinnen (1870 - 1873).
