Arachis ist ein Sex von dem Hülsenfrüchte-Familie (Leguminosen). Die Gattung hat etwa achtzig Arten, die in Südamerika. Die Länder Paraguay und Uruguay bilden die südliche Grenze des Verbreitungsgebietes der Art. Eine bekannte Art aus dieser Gattung ist die Erdnusspflanze.
